I constantly remind myself that, "my steps are ordered by GOD and I will walk in them daily", therefore, the day I went to the Manning Reentry Graduation, I went to support the offenders there, but it was definitely not by accident! Ms. Custard was the graduation speaker, and I; along with the graduates and other staff were at attention and listened attentively to every word she spoke. She wasn't just empowering the inmates, but everyone in the room. Everyone could hear her true passion in the delivery of her message. I sat there and said to myself, "OMG, when she finishes, I've got to get her at Camille to speak with the 30-day ladies to help steer them in the right frame of mine prior to their release". I did speak with her after the graduation, and since then, she has been coming to Camille once a week and is constantly pouring out her blessed knowledge to the women who are here and preparing to reenter society as a new strong and powerful woman! The inmates here speak very highly of her, and the new group is always excitedly awaiting for their last 30 days to be a part of her group! I am truly grateful to have met her along my journey, and I am honored to call her my friend.
We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
